CD-4 Republican Candidate Floyd Trujillo backs Flora

Parker, CO – After falling short on his candidate petitions, Douglas County resident and former CD-4 Republican Candidate Floyd Trujillo told his supporters to back fellow conservative Douglas County citizen Deborah Flora.

“Without being a career politician coupled with a late start to the campaign, we fell short qualifying for the primary ballot,” Trujillo explained. “I got into this race to be a voice for Colorado’s oil and natural gas workers and their tireless commitment to providing affordable, reliable energy for our residents and our nation. Deborah understands the importance of protecting these workers and the national and even global impacts our district has on our national security. She’s clearly the best choice for CD-4 to champion these workers and their families and to confront Joe Biden and his reckless energy policies. That is why I am honored to support Deborah and encourage others to do so as well.”

Trujillo, a former oil and natural gas executive, author and advocate, is the second CD4 Congressional candidate to put his support behind Flora, joining former Congressional Chief of Staff Chris Phelen who dropped out of the race to also endorse Flora’s campaign.

“With the escalating attacks on Israel, Russia’s continuing aggression towards Ukraine and Joe Biden’s political wrath on American energy producers, we need to empower Colorado’s oil and natural gas workers to safeguard our consumers and defend our national security,” Flora said. “Floyd has passionately promoted our homegrown petroleum engineers, air scientists, geologists, and more industry workers to illustrate how the failed Bidenomics of driving down energy supplies has only driven up inflation and consumer costs. I appreciate Floyd’s support and counsel to ensure our CD-4 energy workers will be protected and to shine a bright light on the dangers of the president’s devastatingly expensive green new deal (IRA).”

With two months before the primary election, Flora has already consolidated support of two Republican candidates into her camp as she continues to build support as the clear alternative to former CD-3 Congresswoman Lauren Boebert, who switched Congressional seats earlier this year after seeing her prospects for re-election dim. In a poll released by Boebert’s campaign, her name identification helped propel her ahead of the other nine candidates in the race at the time. However, the number of CD-4 candidates has shrunk from nine to six with Flora as the only candidate consolidating support.

“In the end, this race will be about the person who best represents the values of the hardworking families in CD-4 that I have lived and worked among for years,” Flora said. “I’m running FOR this office, not running FROM an office, which is why our campaign is gaining momentum and support from voters across the district.”

CD-4 Republican Candidate Chris Phelen ends campaign, endorses Flora

Parker, CO – Today, CD-4 Republican Candidate Chris Phelen ended his campaign and threw his support
behind Deborah Flora. “Working in Congress, I witnessed the divisiveness and dysfunction firsthand.” Phelen said. “I ran for Congress to help restore function and to fight for the rights of the people above the interests of the swamp,” Phelen said. “Deborah Flora shares this passion to serve CD-4 families and will be a dedicated, effective, and selfless voice for my family and yours in Congress. Flora is the Conservative who can beat Lauren Boebert, so it is time to consolidate behind her. Deborah will make us proud, and I am honored to support her.”

Phelen, who was formerly Chief of Staff to retiring Congressman Doug Lamborn, maintained strong policy positions and a clear understanding of congressional workings during recent debates. His endorsement of Flora’s campaign signals a consolidation movement behind the Douglas County Republican as the best option to challenge current CD-3 Congresswoman Lauren Boebert. “Chris has had a ringside seat in Congress serving the people of Colorado as a congressional staffer so we’re excited to have his support and experience backing my campaign,” Flora said. “He’s been a consistent voice putting constituents first and understands the importance of serving with integrity and character. Having him on board definitely bolsters our momentum going into the Primary.”

Republican CD-4 Candidate Deborah Flora Launches Women’s Coalition

Parker, CO – As other Republican candidates prepare for the special election nomination process, conservative candidate Deborah Flora is uniting a core constituency ahead of the Primary Election: women voters. Flora, who today secured her spot on the primary ballot, faces off against nearly a dozen men and one woman, Congresswoman Lauren Boebert.

In celebration of Women’s History Month, Flora rallied an event of female supporters that will serve as an important voting block in the Primary. Speakers included local elected officials, business women, and community leaders.

The Women’s Coalition Chair former Lt. Governor Jane Norton said, “I’m honored to chair Deborah Flora’s Women’s Coalition because the contrast is so clear. She has a fresh and unparalleled conservatism that goes beyond the traditional party constituencies, and her principled leadership in her home of CD-4 shows that she will be a strong voice for us all.”

“Throughout my life and career, I have been blessed to have the example and influence of amazing, strong women who have been a source of inspiration and encouragement. That is something I hope to model for my daughter,” said Flora. “As a Congresswoman, I want to make her proud and be a principled conservative leader in Washington that all of my fellow citizens and neighbors in CD-4 can be proud of. Also, as a mom, businesswoman and member of this community, I understand and will focus on the issues affecting families in this district everyday.”

Flanked by dozens of women at her launch event, Flora’s focus on service, character and integrity in Congress remained a key contrast.

“Look, I embrace terms like feisty and fiery for women in politics because what’s happening in our country right now is too important for business as usual,” said Aurora City Councilwoman Danielle Jurinsky. “I’m supporting Deborah Flora because she’s a feisty, fiery woman and changemaker with a vision and the integrity and drive to get our country back on track.”

Newly elected Aurora City Councilman Stephanie Hancock agreed, saying that Flora “understands the issues that hurt our communities and will speak truth to power. She is ready to serve and absolutely the best candidate to represent our shared beliefs and goals in our nation’s capital.”

Obviously, the most controversial candidate in the CD-4 Republican Primary is Boebert, who is the only other woman in the race to succeed Ken Buck. Boebert shocked the political establishment in 2020 when she defeated incumbent Congressman Scott Tipton in CD-3. However, her campaign manager at the time, Laura Carno, has now put her support behind Flora in CD-4 because Flora’s character differentiates her.

“Just when we thought Congress’ approval ratings couldn’t get any lower, we see representatives putting their own self-interests over the needs of their constituents and the American people,” Carno said. “We need people like Deborah Flora who have the conservative principles and strength of character to honorably serve the district’s voters. She’ll be the leader we can trust to perform her duties faithfully and with integrity, traits that are lacking in Washington today.”

Flora Says No Federal Funds for Denver Without Federal Cooperation

Parker, Colo. – Denver continues to feel the brunt of Biden’s border crisis as tens of thousands of asylum seekers storm the city. Mayor Mike Johnston has requested the city cut $180 million from its budget to pay for room and board for the migrants during their stay. Johnston has requested that the federal government backfill that $180 million.

“Undoubtedly, Denver and cities and states throughout the country can’t afford the financial obligations of the migrants streaming across our open border,” said Congressional District 4 candidate Deborah Flora. “More importantly, we cannot afford the national security risks that come from our open border and Denver’s fake welcome mat makes Coloradans less safe.”

Flora spoke of Denver’s outspoken lack of cooperation with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and federal immigration officials (ICE) that protects criminals from prosecution and deportation. Denver’s opposition to cooperation goes so far as punishing city employees who work with federal immigration agents.

“Denver cannot serve as an obstacle to our homeland security in one breath and in the next beg for dollars from that same agency,” Flora said. “These are uncertain and dangerous times that demand a clear focus on our national security.”

The national security implications of our open border was highlighted by a recent letter from former FBI officials who warned about the dangers arriving from our southern border. The letter states, “Young men from around the world traveling alone and holding questionable motivations dramatically increased in number to become the most common profile of those breaching the nation’s border. A startling number have been found on the terrorist watchlist or are from countries designated as State Sponsors of Terror distinctly unfriendly to the United States.”

“Denver should immediately drop its dangerous sanctuary policies and start cooperating with Homeland Security before receiving a dime from the federal government,” Flora concluded.

Deborah Flora Releases Roadmap To Restoring America

Comprehensive plan includes stronger border security measures, policies to unleash American economy

Parker, Colo. – Conservative Republican Deborah Flora, candidate for Colorado’s 4th Congressional District, released the Roadmap to Restoring America, a comprehensive package of policy solutions to deliver prosperity to America, her campaign announced today.

“I’m launching my Roadmap to Restoring America because I believe our nation can prosper if we return the federal government to its one true job: protecting the rights and safety of its citizens,” Flora stated. “As I have traveled all over CD4, I have heard from farmers and ranchers who are being buried under overregulation, hard-working families being crushed by inflation, and neighbors whose communities are being devastated by fentanyl and crime. They deserve real solutions for the real problems they are facing every day. With a lot of distractions and outside noise in the CD-4 race, I’m the only candidate with a clear vision for the path forward. My Roadmap to Restoring America reflects that fact.”

Flora’s plan presents solutions to the most pressing issues facing our nation today. The Roadmap to Restoring America includes policies to secure the border, unleash the American economy, protect parental rights, achieve and protect our energy independence, strengthen agriculture, and defend American values.

“I truly believe America’s best days are ahead of us – but it is going to take smart, conservative policy wins to return our country to her founding ideals and promote prosperity for all Americans,” Flora said. “By limiting the scope of government and focusing on delivering security and protecting freedoms, we can fight back against the radical left’s dangerous policies and restore the nation we love.”

Republican Deborah Flora Signs Taxpayer Protection, Term Limits Pledges

Parker, Colo. – Conservative Republican Deborah Flora has signed both the Term Limits Pledge and the Americans for Tax Reform Taxpayer Protection Pledge, her campaign announced on Friday.

“Both these pledges represent my commitment to always fight on behalf of the hard-working citizens of Colorado’s 4th District,” Flora stated. “I’m supporting term limits and committing to block new taxes because I am running to serve Coloradans – not the special interests.”

Flora’s signatures reinforce her status as a conservative thought leader committed to shrinking the size of government and working to end the gridlock in Washington.

“Unfortunately, too many politicians go to Washington and choose to serve themselves instead of their constituents,” Flora said. “Coloradans deserve a representative with the courage, conviction, and clarity to fight for the issues that matter the most: securing our border, getting our economy back on track, and blocking the Biden administration’s big-government policies that are hindering our freedoms and burying future generations in billions of dollars of unsustainable debt. I am committed to standing on the Constitutional principles of limited government and true representation that is not disconnected far away from the people who have to live under the policies passed in Congress.”

Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach Endorses Deborah Flora for CO-04

Parker, Colo. – Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach endorsed Deborah Flora for Congress today, hailing the conservative Republican leader’s record on parental rights and her stance on immigration.

“For me, the most important issue facing Washington is immigration and its effect on our national security,” Kobach said. “On that issue, Deborah Flora is solid and determined. Flora stands out as someone who will be a leader in Washington because we have seen how hard she has fought to expose bad practices in the education system and fight for the rights of parents to be the decision-makers in the lives of their children.”

Attorney General Kris Kobach served as the 31st Kansas Secretary of State from 2011 to 2019. Kobach has led the charge against the Obama and Biden Administration’s failed immigration policies to secure our Southern Border.

“I am honored to have the endorsement of Kris Kobach, a strong Conservative who has been a leading force in securing our nation’s border. I have been there witnessing firsthand the national security and humanitarian crisis created by Biden’s failed policies. In Congress, I will fight to finish President Trump’s wall and ensure our immigration laws are enforced,” said Flora.

Douglas County Sheriff Darren Weekly Endorses Conservative Deborah Flora for Congress

Parker, Colo. – Conservative Republican Deborah Flora has earned the backing of Douglas County Sheriff Darren Weekly, her campaign announced this afternoon.

“Over the past two years, I have come to know Deborah and her family on a personal level, and know she is a person of courage and character. As a 30-year veteran of law enforcement, and as the chief law enforcement officer of Douglas County, I can tell you we are in the midst of a crime epidemic and law enforcement is under attack on the streets as well as at the Capitol.”

“We need a voice in Congress, and Deborah Flora not only understands the challenges facing officers, she is also an unwavering champion for those who wear the uniform. I’m proud to emphatically endorse Deborah Flora for US Congress,” stated Weekly.

Conservative Republican Deborah Flora Launches Campaign for Colorado’s 4th District

Pledges to Secure the Southern Border, Stop Out-of-Control Spending, and Protect Our Children.

Parker, CO — Today, conservative Republican Deborah Flora launched her campaign for the Republican nomination for Colorado’s 4th Congressional district. Deborah is a radio host, local business leader, and as the founder of the non-profit Parents United America, she has been on the front line advocating for parental rights and educational freedom.

“The career politicians in Washington DC are completely out of touch with the real issues facing the good people of Colorado and this country. I am running for Congress to bring accountability back to government, stop the out-of-control spending that is crushing citizens and skyrocketing inflation, secure our border and return safety to our streets, restore America’s energy independence so we stop funding our enemies abroad, and fight for educational freedom and parental rights,” said Flora. “Coloradans deserve someone who will represent them and have the courage and conviction to stand for what is right. I’m not a career politician, I’m a business owner and a mom who has been fighting from the school board to the state house for our families and our freedoms. I’m ready to take that fight to Washington.”

The daughter of a Lt. Col., Deborah grew up in Colorado on Lowry Air Force Base.
